Overview


St. Peters Engineering College Library plays a vital role in meeting the present and anticipated future needs of its scientific community by selecting, acquiring, disseminating appropriate scientific and technical information through different channels of communication. Library initially was setup in 2007.

The college’s central library is housed in a part of the block having a plinth area of early 790 sq.m. With a total seating capacity of 250. The Central library is stocked with 5900 Titles, 53912 Volumes and also subscribed to 54 National Journals, 12 Inter National Journals and 10 Magazines. The active sections of the central library are computerized with 150 book issues and 250 active readers in the library per day.

Digital library is well equipped systems to access E-journals J-Gate. In addition Multimedia E-Learning Center. NPTEL Facility (National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning) to access web & video lectures ,J-Gate (Science and Engineering Technology) E-Journals Subscription and Institutional Membership of DELNET (Inter- library loan) for resource sharing are available in the library.

The Central Library collectively supports the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. All students, faculty members of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities by taking library membership. The Library, besides having a huge collection of books on Engineering, Science & Humanities offers library services through its various divisions.

The Center Library is equipped with NewGenLib Software Package which is an Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) with Barcode Scanner that supports all in-house operations of the library. The Central Library can be accessed through the On-line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) within the campus premises. /p>

Competitive Examinations Cell


The novel feature of SPEC Library is the establishment of Competitive Examinations Cell with the main objective of providing reading material for student community preparing for various competitive examinations. The cell provides books and journals relating to Civil Services, Public Service Commission, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, GATE, UGC-NET and other competitive examinations.

Library Rules
  1. Students & staff should enter their details in login Register before entering the Library.
  2. The students must carry their Identity cards to the library.
  3. The library user shall not engage in audible conversation in any part of the library.
  4. Cleanliness should be maintained in & around the library-cum-information centre.
  5. Open during 8.30am to 8.00pm on all working days.
  6. Two books can be borrowed at a time from the library.
  7. A book drawn by a student may be retained for 15 days. Book may be recalled at any time. The Book should be returned on or before the date last marked/Stamped otherwise a fine Rs 1 per day shall levy as per the Library Rules.
  8. Any book taken in/out of Library will be checked at the library gate.
  9. In case book is lost/damaged the borrower either have to replace the book of same edition or pay a price plus fine of Rs.50/-. In case of rare book Principal will impose a special fine.
  10. Every student is required to produce their identity card with Library card for obtaining, no dues slip at the end of the session or leaving the Institute.
  11. The principal on the recommendation of the librarian reserves the right to cancel the membership privilege of any student found misbehaving/committing thefts.
  12. Members shall not bring printed materials, personal belongings and library books issued to them inside the library. They are to be kept at the property counter.
  13. Members are responsible for any Damage Caused by them to the books or any other belongings of the library and in case of Damage caused he /she have to pay the penalty imposed by the Librarian.
  14. Use of mobile phone in the library is prohibited.
  15. Avoid making pencil/pen marks, underlining, scribbling and tearing pages in the books/journals. If any such things are noticed at the time of returning the books, borrower will be held responsible and appropriate fine will be collected.
  16. Books marked “Not for Loan” and Reference Books will not be issued.
  17. Consult the Library staff on duty for any other information, suggestions and issues.

St. Peters Engineering College Library plays a vital role in meeting the present and anticipated future needs of its scientific community by selecting, acquiring, disseminating appropriate scientific and technical information through different channels of communication. Library initially was setup in 2007.

The college’s central library is housed in a part of the block having a plinth area of early 970 sq.m. with a total seating capacity of 250. The Central library is stocked with 53666 Volumes and 5824 Titles and also subscribed to 54 National Journals and 12 International Journals and 13 Magazines. The active sections of the central library are computerized with 150 book issues and 250 active readers in the library per day.

Digital library is well equipped systems to access E-journals J-Gate. In addition Multimedia E-Learning Center. NPTEL Facility (National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning) to access web & video lectures and Institutional Membership of DELNET (Inter- library loan) for resource sharing are available in the library.

The Central Library collectively supports the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. All students, faculty members of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities by taking library membership. The Library, besides having a huge collection of books on Engineering, Science & Humanities offers library services through its various divisions.

The Center Library is equipped with NewGenLib Software Package which is an Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) with Barcode Scanner that supports all in-house operations of the library. The Central Library can be accessed through the On-line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) within the campus premises.

Competitive Examinations Cell

The novel feature of SPEC Library is the establishment of Competitive Examinations Cell with the main objective of providing reading material for student community preparing for various competitive examinations. The cell provides books and journals relating to Civil Services, Public Service Commission, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, GATE, UGC-NET and other competitive examinations.

  1. Students & staff should enter their details in login Register before entering the Library.

  2. The students must carry their Identity cards to the library.

  3. The library user shall not engage in audible conversation in any part of the library.

  4. Cleanliness should be maintained in & around the library-cum-information centre.

  5. Open during 8.30am to 8.00pm on all working days.

  6. Two books can be borrowed at a time from the library.

  7. A book drawn by a student may be retained for 15 days. Book may be recalled at any time. The Book should be returned on or before the date last marked/Stamped otherwise a fine Rs 1 per day shall levy as per the Library Rules.

  8. Any book taken in/out of Library will be checked at the library gate.

  9. In case book is lost/damaged the borrower either have to replace the book of same edition or pay a price plus fine of Rs.50/-. In case of rare book Principal will impose a special fine.

  10. Every student is required to produce their identity card with Library card for obtaining, no dues slip at the end of the session or leaving the Institute.

  11. The principal on the recommendation of the librarian reserves the right to cancel the membership privilege of any student found misbehaving/committing thefts.

  12. Members shall not bring printed materials, personal belongings and library books issued to them inside the library. They are to be kept at the property counter.

  13. Members are responsible for any Damage Caused by them to the books or any other belongings of the library and in case of Damage caused he /she have to pay the penalty imposed by the Librarian.

  14. Use of mobile phone in the library is prohibited.

  15. Avoid making pencil/pen marks, underlining, scribbling and tearing pages in the books/journals. If any such things are noticed at the time of returning the books, borrower will be held responsible and appropriate fine will be collected.

  16. Books marked “Not for Loan” and Reference Books will not be issued.

  17. Consult the Library staff on duty for any other information, suggestions and issues.
