Industry Institute Partnership Cell
Industry Institute Partnership Cell is established at St.Peters Engineering College for bridging the gap between the institute and industry and to promote industry interaction in various dimensions of academics. IIP cell focus on identifying the industrial needs and preparing the students with potential skills required by the industry. The cell facilitates the student community to undergo internships at IITs, NIT’s, MNC’s and other core companies. The cell also supports faculty members to acquire consultancy services based on the requirement of the industry.
The Aims of IIPC – SPEC are:
- To establish a platform for enhancing the relationship between SPEC and the Industries.
- To promote the synergetic partnership between the Institute and Industry to exchange the expertise of the experts from the Industry and the Institute.
- IIPC-SPEC has an advisory board with eminent people from Industries, R&D organizations, Industry Associations, Entrepreneurs, etc.
Objective
- To foster close interaction with industrial partners, professional associations, and professional bodies, the stakeholders of the institution, to receive inputs for academic, research and innovation, entrepreneurship, and social responsibilities towards providing quality education, creative and innovative solutions for societal problems, and opportunities for sustainable growth.
- Developing close links between Industry-Institute through interaction programs. High priority is given to activities designed to bring about improvement in the performance of industries.
- Mobilizing industrial personnel- A partnership approach
- Identifying the present-day requirements for professionals and meeting future human resource needs.
- Disseminating technical advances through informal educational techniques.
- Training the shop floor personnel through continuing education programs.
- Publishing and issuing technical bulletin newsletters and course material with the latest technological developments.
- Organizing seminars, symposiums, exhibitions, and workshops.
- Collaborating with other societies (National and International) having similar objectives.
- Widening and effectively implementing the area of R&D and consultancy.
- Proper Transport Facility for Conducting Industrial Visits.
- For conducting Expert Talks, all the required facilities like Seminar Hall, Audio/ Video Equipment, and proper transport for the concerned Expert are provided.
- After completing the Internship Program by the students, the Incubation Lab facility is provided to exhibit their prototypes.
- Concerned department Lab facilities are arranged for conducting workshops.
- Project Labs and Incubation Centres are arranged for taking a Memorandum of Understanding between the institute and industries.

Coordinators:
- The primary focus is to interact with elite industries and extend the efforts in establishing partnerships with industries across the country in near future.
- To interact with industries and organizations for providing training and internships to students in Industries.
- Organizing seminars, symposiums, exhibitions, and workshops on the latest technological advancements, evaluation of project work
- Fund Rising for committee-related activities and events by taking proper approval from higher officials
- To encourage each department to take initiation for signing MOUs to pursue research-related activities for benefit of students.
- Arranging industrial training for students and faculty members by taking proper approvals from the Officials.
- Identifying the opportunities for student project work in various Industries.
- Encourage the department level tie-ups or MOUs with Industries for mutual benefit.
- Research and development activities with industry.
- Promoting consultancy activities, and training courses for industry people.
- Enrich the teaching-learning process through identified industrial training/visits.
- Planning for students’ industrial visit.
- Inviting industry experts for guest lectures, seminars, and expertise sharing.
- To take the initiation for conducting industrial tours, workshops, and expert talks
- To coordinate with respective department committee coordinators for more no. of students to participate in internships in various industries
- To help the faulty coordinators after the completion of events by taking data, preparing reports, and collecting feedback from the students.
