Objective:
The workshop aimed to provide hands-on training and insight into quantity estimation of various items involved in the construction of a building. The primary audience for this workshop was the IV B. Tech Civil Engineering students, who are in the final stage of their course and can benefit from learning the practical aspects of civil engineering.
Workshop Details:
Mr. Nagamalleswara Rao, a Senior Engineer from the Aim Institute for Civil Engineers, delivered the workshop voluntarily, sharing his vast knowledge and practical experiences in the field of construction. The workshop focused on the following topics:
- Introduction to quantity estimation and its importance in construction.
- Breakdown of various items in a building project (foundation, superstructure, finishing works, etc.).
- Step-by-step process of estimating quantities for concrete, steel, brickwork, plastering, and other materials.
- Hands-on practice with real-world examples and estimation techniques.
- Discussion of common challenges and solutions in quantity estimation.
The speaker also emphasized the significance of accurate quantity estimation in preventing wastage and ensuring cost-effective project execution.
Participation:
