As part of the 78th Independence Day celebrations, St. Peter’s Engineering College organized a series of cultural and literary events from the 12th to the 14th of August 2024. The events were meticulously planned and executed by the Cultural Committee, engaging students across various disciplines in activities that celebrated creativity, patriotism, and artistic expression.
Event 1: Poetry Writing and Recitation Competition

Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
The celebrations kicked off with a Poetry Writing and Recitation Competition on the 12th of August. The event took place in the Rojamma Hall and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their literary talents. The participants composed and recited original poems centered around the themes of independence, freedom, and national pride.
The competition was inaugurated by the Secretary & Correspondent, Sri T. V. Reddy, who spoke about the power of poetry in expressing deep emotions and patriotic sentiments. The event was judged by Ms. Arsha Reddy and Dr. Mani N Bacchu, who evaluated the poems based on creativity, expression, and delivery. The Principal, Dr. K. Sreelatha, and Academic Director, Mrs. T. Saroja Reddy, appreciated the participants for their creative efforts.
Conclusion
The 78th Independence Day celebrations at St. Peter’s Engineering College were a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of the Cultural Committee and the enthusiastic participation of students. Over the course of three days, the events not only showcased the talents of the students but also fostered a sense of patriotism and national pride among all participants. The Principal, Dr. K. Sreelatha, along with the Secretary & Correspondent, Sri T. V. Reddy, and the entire management team, expressed their satisfaction with the success of the celebrations and encouraged the continuation of such activities in the future.
